May the Lord grant you his peace, dear friends of Gethsemane.
In this month that has just begun, we wish to share with you two lights in the hope that they may help us to love Jesus "the Unloved Love" (Saint Francis).
The first: looking at the Blessed Sacrament we are before the Lamb of God, the Lamb sacrificed (cf Jn 1:29.36), the "Bread of the Angels that adapts to the taste of those who eat it" (cf. Wis 16:20-21). He is the Victim of atonement, he is the one who has given himself and continues to give himself until the end of the world! It is God’s sacrifice that tells us the Father’s boundless love for all humanity. The Lord Jesus still testifies to us that it is divinely beautiful to make children happy by feeding them with good bread, we too can be and do so. In the silent pause, before the Great Sovereign, we thank him and ask him to grow in trust in him in order to be partakers of this great mystery and to be able to witness to him in our daily lives... if it served with words, Saint Francis would say.
The second: in this month we contemplate the Person of the Most Holy Virgin Mary assumed into Heaven in body and soul.
Everything is grace and everything comes from the divine initiative to make us share in the heavenly life that is much more real than the present reality, because it is eternal. As we contemplate the Son, we also contemplate the availability of Mary Most Holy and her participation in the Mystery of the Redemption, proclaimed "Queen of Heaven and Earth: here in time and eternity. Thanks to the "Yes" (fiat voluntas tua) of Mary, the Father has not stopped repeating his "Yes"... forever! Let us meditate on his intercession, on his holding hands, on his maternal guide that leads us to Heaven through the Son, in God the Father, in the Spirit, in infinite Love!
Also in our little appointment of the Holy Hour we try to contemplate this Mystery of God made Flesh, present here before us, "tangible" to our senses and our eyes. May it be our prayer, our life, the confident smile of the children that becomes a sweet fragrance of incense pleasing to Him. Let us always praise him and ask the Prince of Peace, through the intercession of Mary Most Holy, the gift of people capable of weaving paths of peace and love in our history.
