“THEY STOOD BY THE CROSS OF JESUS…” (Jn 19,25)

Dear friends, peace to you from Gethsemane.

We are experiencing moments of great apprehension over the confusion that is creating the scourge of war. A wound has opened that will struggle to heal. We are of few words and perhaps these weak sentences are not enough to express how important now is the prayer towards the only One who can save us: our Lord Jesus Christ. We know that we have already given our lives to the Lord, yet there are also non-believers, and not only here in the Middle East, who are experiencing the Passion of our Lord, a real "Way of the Cross". We find ourselves at Golgotha, almost powerless, incapable and aware of being able to do nothing, if anything, to be there. Let us also ask you for this presence: let us stand beside the sore 'members' of the Lord as far as we can and how we can. They are members of the one Body, they are the Crucifixes of this time. And it is perhaps the latter who bring us mysteriously closer to the heart of Mary Most Holy, to the beloved Disciple and to the other women at the foot of the Cross who implore mercy from God the Father!

That’s right. We should beg for mercy... As in these days we have prayed to the Lord with these words: "You have forgiven the sins of your people for the prayers of holy pastors, who interceded like Moses, for their merits always purifies and renews your Church." (Vespers, from the Common of Pastors, Liturgy of the Hours).

We know this well, we are neither saints, nor pastors... but, today more than ever, we perceive the great responsibility of being a single voice that rises to God as "little Moses" who intercede, so that the Lord can put an end to all adversity and may have mercy on this wounded humanity. Let us not allow ourselves to be "robbed" by the evil one of the great luminous hope: that "all things are possible to God" (Lk 1:37) and that He, by the supreme gift of the Son, has already conquered the world (Jn 16:33).

May Mary Most Holy, Queen of Peace, intercede for all of us for the salvation of the world.

    Vigilantes cum Christo

    Hora Sancta

We are the sons of St. Francis, and we are THE custodians, according to the will of God, of one of the places that Jesus loved the most: the garden called GETHSEMANE. This is a unique place in the world. It is the place where the Lord manifested his Yes forever by being ready to enter where nobody else had ever entered, where he plunged into darkness, in the final battle against death, in which humanity has always ended up being a loser.
