Dear friends of Gethsemane, may the Lord grant you his Peace!
In this usual wish that we make to you, we ourselves desire peace and we ask it of the Lord insistently, even when 'contrary winds' seem to want to imply with greater force the prevarication of evil over good. The man of today, in the relativism dictated by modernity, seems more and more a weather vane in the wind! This is why we must unite and ask the Lord for his gift: peace. We know the tools: each of us has a great power, the possibility of loving and offering oneself as a living sacrifice to God pleasing (Rom 12:1). Prayer, fasting and the offering of our small/great hidden renunciations, are known by God, and and in this way we are in solidarity with those who are waiting for justice and peace. Not only will this prayer be like a 'balm' for the most needy, but it helps us to love more and more, and in this way, we make present the Kingdom of God, the Lord. Indeed, it is the Gospel itself that tells us, in a thousand ways, how the Lord is present, is among us! Let us ask the Lord this in our prayer: that his love may be known by all men! We wish to ask and implore this to the Lord. We have the gift of being able to contemplate this mystery in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
From this Rock, which "listened" to the supplication and prayer of the Son to the Father, we being with Him, can share in this great mystery of love, the relationship between the 'infinite' being, God the Father, and his Son, 'finite' among us, his children. This is a great mystery. Let us contemplate, let us taste, this Presence in the Blessed Sacrament! In our prayer, through the Holy Spirit, we can feel that there is an 'open' spousal relationship between God, who is pure uncreated Light, and all of us his children, his creatures... because Jesus Christ our Lord, the Word of the Father, by becoming flesh, put himself on the side of creation, and at the same time, by his own grace alone, brings us into the bosom of the Father, to Heaven, making us divine! This is the strength of God’s Love, made Flesh, which has the power to always take people into the distance and lead them back to the House of the Father from the distance!
It is the hidden yearning in our soul, the charm of Heaven, which is in that Face that Heaven contains: Jesus Christ! Let us pray, let us thank, let us intercede... so be it!
