Dear friends of Gethsemane, may the Lord grant you his peace.
From this holy place a special prayer is raised on July 1 to the Father for the gift of the Most Precious Blood of his Son, our Saviour. A unique solemnity, which is celebrated only HERE in Jerusalem. The Custos of the Holy Land will spread the rose petals on the sacred Rock on which the Lord sweated blood during his prayer to the Father for us!There are many meanings of the Blood as a concrete sign of our Redemption. We would like to share only an existential liturgical perspective in order to be able to contemplate and live our praise and to be able to thank and intercede with the Most High so that he may renew this Mystery of salvation and may extend to humanity in need of Him!
When do we really "touch" this immense gift of God’s Blood? We could say in all the Sacraments because they are always a manifestation of the Life of the One God, but in a sublime way we enter into "contact" or better, the Most High descends from his royal throne to "dwell" in us, in the Mystery of the Eucharist, true Body and true Blood!In assuming this Sacrament, that not even the Angels in their wisdom imagined they have the privilege of receiving it, the Sacred Species, absorbed by the juices of our body, as happens for every food, become our blood, sublime mystery.The Eucharist contains, not metaphorically but really, the Most Holy Body of the Lord Jesus.Thus our person (body-spirit) retains in himself the grace that emanates this complete Body, Flesh, Blood, Soul and in addition the Divinity being the Body of the Word of God, becoming an incredibly temple of the living God. All this does not remain alien to the mystery of evil (ordinary action of the Evil One), which rages in our time trying in every way to get away from the Lord through wars, discords, sneaky jealousies and divisions. Typical consequences of evil! From the fruits you can recognize the tree!All this, however, can become for us a reason of prayer that intercedes, so that humanity can still be the holy dwelling place of the Most High who always asks to have a place on which he can rest his head. Each of us can be this holy "place"... truly loving the Lord!
A special prayer is raised to the Father from this place... we said at the beginning. The reason is also the anniversary of the birth of the Hermitage of Gethsemane, a place consecrated to prayer that arose 35 years ago. We ask you for a special prayer so that the Lord may guard it and may improve it still further to bring more and more souls to his infinite desire "Stay here with me, watch and pray … while I pray" (Cfr Mt 26,38.41).
In our prayer (Holy Hour), and in every Eucharist we thank, we always praise the Father for this unfathomable Mystery!Let us implore the gift of his knowledge, the gift of his Peace.
